osCommerce Online Merchant v2.2 RC2a Released This is a bugfix release that replaces osCommerce Online Merchant v2.2 RC2.
The only changes that have been made include the following 2 bugfixes that were introduced with 2.2 RC2:
- Use of PHP 5 only stripos() function during the database restoration routine on the Administration Tool. A compatibility function has been added to work on PHP <5 servers.
- A PHP warning message is produced on requests where the session has not been started (ie, for search engine spiders). This is due to referencing the $_SESSION superglobal variable in tep_session_is_registered() which does not exist if the session has not started. A check for this variable has been added to this function.
It is strongly recommended that existing v2.2 RC2 installations apply the following changes to correct the above issues:

osCommerce Online Merchant v3.0 and PHP 5 The PHP Group recently announced that support for PHP 4 will be discontinued at the end of this year to focus on the production-ready PHP 5 and the upcoming PHP 6 releases.
The announcement from the PHP Group can be read here:
http://www.php.net/index.php#2007-07-13-1
This announcement impacts our current v3.0 development roadmap, our vision for the final v3.0 release, and our support policy for released versions, where we have decided to also drop support for PHP 4 in osCommerce Online Merchant v3.0 and to optimize it for PHP 5.
This gives us v3.0 Alpha 5 and v3.0 Alpha 6 to remove PHP 4 compatibility coding logic and to optimize the framework with the new features PHP 5 provides. As the current state of the v3.0 framework has already moved to an Object Oriented design, optimizing it for PHP 5 will be a simple task worth doing now to avoid jumping to v4.0 so soon which was planned to be PHP 5 optimized.
Optimizing osCommerce Online Merchant v3.0 for PHP 5 now allows us to further improve and strengthen the framework and to pass the high quality level of coding to community developers to base their add-ons on. The performance of the framework will improve by removing the PHP 4 compatibility layer and by taking advantage of the new features PHP 5 provides such as SimpleXML, DateTime, Iterators, and new core functions. The design and security of the Object Oriented framework will also improve by utilizing the new features of the PHP 5 Object Model.
Our support policy for the v3.x release series is to publish a release with new features every 6 months and to support each published release for 2 years. Removing the PHP 4 compatibility layer now for the v3.0 release allows us to focus only on PHP 5 without the need to spend resources on PHP 4 compatibility past its end of life cycle.
Many hosting providers have been supporting PHP 5 in recent years together with PHP 4 where this change will not impact many users. The number of providers supporting PHP 5 will increase by the end of the year to match the end of life support for PHP 4.
The osCommerce Online Merchant v2.x release series will continue to be compatible with PHP 3, PHP 4, and PHP 5 from v2.2 onwards.
We are highly motivated about this change in focus and look forward in making osCommerce Online Merchant v3.0 an even better release.

We are currently in the process of certifying the payment modules included in this release which will be the only change for the final osCommerce Online Merchant v2.2 release planned in the coming weeks.
No major features have been introduced with this release candidate as our development efforts are focused on our upcoming 3.0 release, but does include the following changes:

osCommerce 3.0 Alpha 4 "Lebkuchen" Released We are proud to announce the fourth alpha release in the osCommerce 3.0 development cycle and it is now available for general public testing. osCommerce 3.0 Alpha 4 "Lebkuchen" is the second release to be made available to the public, where the first two alpha releases were made available to Community Sponsors only.
Alpha releases are made to showcase the new features being worked on and to generalize a version specific for testing to help fix and improve subsequent alpha releases for a final, stable, secure, and production ready 3.0 release.
Although we strive to keep alpha releases stable, the primary intentions of making alpha releases publicly available are for testing purposes only. The framework for 3.0 is still under development and will change in subsequent alpha releases. No upgrade paths will be provided between alpha releases and are therefore not recommended for production use.

member type control from admin I have create a new feature in member section which will be control from admin panel. Admin can set member type and member type no. This is the version 1.next version I will add more feature with controll through member type.
After add feature goto admin panel
Click Customers -> Click edit
In edit form set customer staus in bellow of the edit form.
I have add three types memger Gold member, Platinum member and No member.
OT_Membership I have taken the liberty of working more on this addon that i love, and have modified another admin file to do the work of Inserting/Editing/Deleting the Membership Types which was surely needed to make this a truly viable addon for non php/mySQL gifted folks. The zip contains the files and very basic instructions to add the admin stuff.
NOTE: The admin menu/box file was written for CRE Loaded so it will need modifying by someone to be osC compatible, but thats minor compared to the ability this gives all users of this mod :) Have Fun!
Simple Visitor Newsletter with HTML Support I agree with Oren, I do not see why you need to edit the login page. Once the customer creates their account, the system automatically pulls the information and deletes the database entry from the visitor table.
Mod is looking great everyone, thanks for keeping it going through my absence.

Technical Information - Show and Hide V1.00 Technical Information Show and Hide V1.00 :: For Oscommerce MS2.2 / RC1 Compatible & FULLY TESTED ON BOTH
(May work on RC2.2a also but not tested.)
Hi, My name is Chris, I work 9 till 5, alone as a webdesigner / server admin / tech guy for a small company whom I persuaded to use oscommerce for thier shop and have been having fun modifying it since! I decided to create this contribution myself as I have never seen a contribution that does the same thing on the oscommerce addon site so enjoy!
Product descriptions too long? Do you have lengthy technical info you wish to seperate from the products description? Then this an addon you are looking for!
This addon will allow you to enter hideable technical information in an extra description field when you add a new product,
This will then show on your catalog side with a cool hide/show button (default state is obviously hidden). This makes your product_info.php page very slick and tidy.
Ideal for any product that has a general description, but also requires sometimes lengthy technical information.
The mod works much like this install document, but with a neater expand / collapse button.
This mod also contains an optional step if you use FCKEDITOR for Product Descriptions.
Installation instructions based on fresh 2.2 MS2 Release - Addon has been fully tested with 2.2 RC1 Also
A worthy addon to any site
Orange Julius Template updated readme other files, please use the default categories.php if you category names are too long for the images in the template
Modern Template for RC2a v1.0 Modern Template for RC2a v1.0
This is a simple and modern looking drop over template for a default install of osCommerce RC2a.
Included skin: Grey styled modern skin with fixed with and search in header. (Screenshot included)
Might also work with older versions, but has only been tested on Rc2a.
This template is not meant to be an end in itself, but a nice base to work out from to create your own design.
Site width and colors can be adjusted in the file stylesheet.css
Buttons and text for English, German and Spanish included.
